Gile Hill is also close to world-class skiing, backcountry hiking, kayaking, canoeing, mountain and rock climbing and more.
Moments from your door is the Indian Ridge Trail, an easy hike with a scenic overlook of Dartmouth and the Connecticut River Valley. This connects to the Boston Lot Lake Mountain Bike Trail, a mix of single-track, double-track and fire road trails. The Appalachian Trail runs 13.9 miles in Hanover and it’s just about 1.5 miles from Gile Hill.
Paddling, fishing, and swimming opportunities abound in the area. You can even rent canoes and kayaks from the Ledyard Canoe Club. Alpine Skiing Resorts close to Gile Hill include: Whaleback (8 mi), Saskadena Six (25 mi), Sunapee (30 mi), and Killington (39 mi).
